okay so sometimes you forget to blog or you just dont want to. i’ve been doing like, stuff.

i’ve been to a local winery www.lakeridgewinery.com and they make a bunch of wines out of muscadine grapes and they are all far to sweet for my tastes, they did make a red that i liked a lot called cuvee noir, i bought 4 bottles. they had a little art and craft fair set up, some food vendors and live music. it was pretty cool to be in florida and see hills (and grape vines). we had soem great food (philly cheesesteak, corn dog, gyro) and a couple of plastic cups of wine each.

i’ve seen some movies, not too many though, saw ultraviolet and thats about all at the theater, the movie was pretty bad, but did have some pretty cool technology, i really liked the other dimensional pockets and backpacks, it would be so cool to store a sword in an other dimensional pocket right on your chest. i watched half of harold and kumar but i just couldn’t finish it, i watched a few movies on in demand just sitting at home with anna and the dogs. serenity, which wasn’t real great but was passably entertaining for the relaxing evening of just sitting around, we also saw mr and mrs smith which was entertaining in a mind numbing sort of way.

we skipped the coldplay/fiona apple concert in tampa even though we had tickets because we just didn’t feel like it, shes not a fiona fan, i’m not a big coldplay fan and neither of us are particularly struck with our respective musician’s newest albums, so we just gave the tickets away and had a good time at home wrestling puppies and vegging out with the oscars on in the background. oh yeah, watched most of crash as i was cleaning and paying bills while danny had it on because he had never seen it, thats a great movie, i’m glad it won best picture.

we’ve had some good dinners (habana grill on aloma is good and a new place that i bet we’ll go to often), went to mgm one day, did a few 16 hour days one weekend to do an emergency site launch, played with the dogs, went to the park and i read a bit lately. two books i’ve just finished that i’d recommend to anyone are kurt vonnegut’s man without a country and john grogan’s marley and me. the first is kurt vonnegut writing as himself, a very long letter to the world at large, but targeted somewhat to his fans, the man is wise and i think the world would do well to listen, he drags you through the full range of your emotions in a matter of pages. marley and me is subtitled, “life and love with the world’s worst dog” and is about the life of a yellow lab. its about his and his family’s life as well and its a moving story, the dog drives the story and i’m sure i connected with it especially well considering my yellow lab is almost 8 months old and an absolute monster.

oh and as to something not related to me, justin over at justinsomnia (see the “i read” section in right column) got a cease and desist letter from a total bunch of jackasses, i mean exodus international, the people who believe you can turn a gay person straight through god or brainpower or something else that denies the normality of being gay because he parodied their ridiculous billboard in his blog, and he mentions my blog since i had written the original story about the billboard even being up. where’s my letter? i wonder if it went to an old address, haven’t updated my domain contact info in a while, well i guess i’ll just wait, if it becomes a lawsuit or anything, i’m sure they can find me.

thats it, thats the all inclusive blog post about whats up
