i finally checked my site stats after like 8 months of just ignoring everything on this site except for the home page, i've kept adding cool links, i redesigned a tiny bit and added a mini blog over there in regular imightbeinatree land, no comments, no titles, no links, just text, thoughts, blurbs

and by my site stats it seems that maybe some of the blog posts here were interesting considering the blog got 14368 visitors and the real home page got 641

it seems to mostly be about these four posts

gay rights and a picture that resulted in justin's cease and desist letter part 1
i mention his letter at the end of this post

this blog is no longer active, i did redirect it to my link blog site like 7 months, but it seems it was pretty well indexed in google. so here it is, its back up, for its little bit of archival, historical reasons. but you prolly don't want to check back here often, i don't actually plan to post anymore, i do still post links that i find interesting at www.imightbeinatree.com.

the comment spam is out of control on here, i'm planning to delete the comments soon, so don't bother posting any comments, i'm not reading them, check the link site and you can figure out how to email me from there. comments have been deleted and all comments must now be approved by a moderator before they appear and i am never going to check them, the most i'm gonna do is empty out the comments table every once in a while in the database, this merely stands as a record, there was never really any interesting conversation here in the comments, a few friends and a few nice people did leave comments and i thank them

where have i been?

well i've been programming (see paragraph 2), canoeing, getting new carpet (its a long process, installation is finally next week), hanging out with my friend from out of town dustin, eating out a good bit, taking a few pictures, and anna and i have watched several movies: silent hill (b), waiting (b), the benchwarmers (a-). i've also been staying up til midnight to watch damn saved by the bell, i swore i wouldn't watch, but i am, rabidly, it really was one of my favorite shows when i was little and no matter how tired i am at midnight those first words of the theme song spill out of the tv (when i wake in the morning and the 'larm gives out a warning, i don't think i'll ever make it in time) and i perk right up and watch and love it.

what else have i been up to? i've been creating a new website for music fanatics, freaks, and snobs. it is a site for collectors called mycds.org. you can manage your music collections down to the tiniest detail. some people like that, i like that. (i'm not only the president, i'm also a client) check it out and if you are a collector too, sign up. right now you can manage your cds/cassettes/vinyl and other music memorabilia...

some ideas that i haven't finished yet: i'm going to get pictures integrated, want lists, drag and drop reordering, easier input forms, lots of user control for displays, user tour journals, a messaging system and maybe a system for trading inside of mycds.org, oh lots of ideas, send me yours, i'll probably do it.

adult swim

i love adult swim, i'm a little shocked by adult swim's recent behavior. they are running a commercial claiming that saved by the bell is coming to adult swim starting april 17th. this has to be a joke, adult swim is for cartoons, i don't really dig the action section, but i love almost everything on the comedy side of adult swim, if it had been something like alf where at least there was a puppet, then maybe i'd get it, but saved by the bell? please no.

and the song and dance 20 second snippets of saved by the bell moments that adult swim has decided to use as their promotional commercial serve very simply and very well to remind me that i do not need to watch this show again. i will not watch saved by the bell again, i have better things to do.

man it is hard to keep up with this sometimes

there are more amsterdam photos on flickr-- the rest of mine, click on the flickr badge on the right to view them, now i just have to get anna's pics up and you will have them all.

i've been sick, missed two days of work and that sucked

rented elizabethtown, not a great movie, not even good really, had some cool moments, but both main characters were hard to get into, hard to root for, hard to love

i heard on npr this morning that massachusetts is trying to make health insurance a requirement, that if your employer does not provide health insurance you will be required to buy your own if there is an affordable plan available to you. i'd like to know who determines what is affordable for each person, i mean are they going to take into account that you are sending money away to help grandma or your brother or child support or the extra costs of vegetarian dietary needs or the skyrocketing price of fuel and the fact that your job is 45 miles away in the city that you cant afford to live in because everything bigger than a matchbox costs a million dollars? i also heard that they are going to make businesses pay $295 per person per year if they do not provide health insurance. the broadcaster said this amount was determined because it is the per person cost of some government care program for people without health insurance. sounds to me like no business in massachusetts is going to be offering health insurance anymore once this goes into effect, it only smart business (read smart as "heartless and profitable") because i know $295 is less than what they have to pay per person per year for health insurance (unless maybe they are some huge company which gets a great discount, but even still i doubt it).

i've been listening to the smashing pumpkins a lot lately, mostly siamese dream and pisces iscariot.

anna and i are planning a trip to toronto for this summer, ahhh a vacation where it won't be freezing, i can't wait

movies and books and stuff

well only half of my amsterdam pics are up on flickr, i just haven't gone through the second gig stick of pics, so be patient, they are coming, there are some good pics in there too, so you should be excited... its coming, soon, or something, i promise

saw a couple of movies this weekend, inside man and v for vendetta.

inside man was great, it had a lot of "realness" if thats a word and some great camera shots. i really didnt have a clue how it was all going to work out, so i think it did a good job of building suspense, if you like suspense, or nyc, or clive owen, or denzel washington, or jodi foster, or bank robbery movies, then go see this, you'll probably love it.

v for vendetta was awesome, absolutely awesome, if it looks at all interesting to you go go go, if you think a movie shouldn't promote terrorism, then you have no idea what the movie is about, just because a fascist corrupt government (which is what you have to the extreme in this movie) calls someone a terrorist doesn't mean they are a terrorist. i think v really falls under the definition of a freedom fighter, a revolutionary who uses the only means left to try to free the people, it was a great movie, better than i had hoped

i also read a book since i've been back: company by max barry. i read it in 3 sittings, it sucked me in. if you have ever worked at a big company or any company where nothing makes sense, if you ever feel like you live in a dilbert strip or know someone who does, then this book will be hilarious as it bites and tears apart the modern business's cold and uncaring approach to management, enjoy it.

had a great bottle of wine the other day, cuvee noir, from the local lakeridge winery, still got 3 bottles left

predictions for the weather in amsterdam during my trip have been changing frequently, it is maddening to follow closely. weather.com has been predicting random snowy rain slush in constantly close to freezing temperatures (at or below freezing with the wind chill), as i get ready to depart, ready to sleep, everything but the final toothbrushes packed, i check the weather one more time, final opportunity will be at the morning update around 10 or so, but the recent change is refreshing, oh its still going to be cold, but i've decided not to worry about trying to find long johns, i'm just going to go with what i've got packed, i'm not going to worry about the cold which is hard being from orlando, where its never cold for long enough for you to really remember what it feels like... anyway, this is going to be fun, i look forward to the cold, i hope to be around for a few snow flurries, mostly i just hope it doesn't rain much or often, heres a screen grab of the most current predictions
